National Land Survey of Finland is using Spatineo to monitor the national spatial data infrastructure

The National Land Survey of Finland and Spatineo have initiated a co-operation to monitor spatial data services. The parties are jointly checking the status and ensuring the operability of the national spatial data infrastructure. Spatineo provides the technical monitoring as a service and creates a view of the status of the infrastructure. The status infos are to be seen in the national spatial data portal (Paikkatietoikkuna). The same information can be seen in Spatineo Directory.

In addition the National Land Survey of Finland has made an agreement for Spatineo Monitor to monitor, to report and to improve the quality of their own spatial data services. Spatineo Monitor shows who has been using the services and how they are performing. Exact analysis is the basis for the quality of service.

“The co-operation with Spatineo regarding the national spatial data infrastructure provides significant added value to us and to all user of our national spatial data portal. This is because the reliability of the infrastructure is the key factor in that the spatial data can and will be widely used.”, says Timo Tuhkanen, the director of development center at the National Land Survey of Finland. “Spatineo Monitor provides us an excellent foundation to ensure that our own services are also functioning properly and reliably”, continues Antti Kosonen, the director of information center at the National Land Survey of Finland. “We’re really happy about these two agreements. The co-operation with the National Land Survey of Finland has been very positive and we believe it will deepen even further.”, says the managing director of Spatineo, Kristian Jaakkola.
